Hello Alpha Resource Center Clients, Volunteers, and Supporters,
We are happy to tell you that the Alpha Resource Center will be open for appointments and client visits starting Tuesday, May 26. Our hours of operation will be the same as our normal published hours and other times by appointment.
The “Safer at Home” order from our Governor has ended. The social distancing that we have all been experiencing has successfully allowed our health systems and hospitals to handle any influx of patients that need care due to COVID19. For the most part, the state and the nation are starting to resume some version of normal operations. It is time for Alpha to resume its normal activities as well.
We continue to be concerned about the health and well-being of both our clients and our volunteers. As we take the steps necessary to get back to some sort of normal operations, it is important to remember that the COVID19 virus is certainly still with us and a great concern for many. In recognition of these issues, we have done a thorough cleaning of the Alpha Center. Additionally, we have instituted a protocol of cleaning and sanitizing the center regularly and between client visits. We have a supply of masks for use by our volunteers if they wish to wear one. Hand sanitizer will be available at the center for our volunteers and clients to utilize.
We are asking our clients to make an appointment in advance before they come to the center. That will allow us to schedule their visits to ensure that adequate social distancing is maintained. Upon arrival at the center, we are asking that they use the hand sanitizer we have available unless they have a health condition that prevents they from doing so. We ask that they only come into the center in person if they are feeling well. If they or their family are experiencing any of the symptoms of COVID19, we ask that they call us by phone so we can schedule a time when one of our client advocates will connect with them over the phone line to serve their needs rather than in person.
It is wise to be reminded the best practices that the CDC recommends to help prevent the spread of any viruses.
The CDC has provided some tips to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
• Stay home when you are sick.
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
• If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
All of us at the Alpha Resource Center: The Tri County Chapter of Christian Life Resources recognize that many people have been negatively impacted financially by this situation, and we know that we can show God’s Love to others by reaching out and offering assistance where we can during this stressful time. We also want to thank the many supporters that have continued to offer us the financial support needed to fulfill our ministry. We will continue to need your support and the donations of material goods needed by our clients. As always, our trust is in Christ, who paid for our sins by his death on the cross and is the Risen Savior of each one of us in this world.
